Dear Bayan Community,

These unprecedented times have been a great reminder to turn challenging circumstances into opportunities of excellence, perseverance and resilience. I would like to extend my sincere praise and gratitude to our esteemed Board of Trustees, the Bayan Administration Team, the collaborative work of our hardworking faculty, our motivated students, and our cooperative parents and guardians for playing a vital role in the seamless shift to the Virtual Learning Program, which we transitioned to on the 1st of March, 2020, only a few days after the unanticipated national school closures.

Our pre-planned learning contingency program, which was built ahead of time, ensured that the academic weekly reports continued to show outstanding attendance rates, student engagement and a well- structured learning continuum throughout all grade levels.

Another challenge we faced this year was the graduation of the class of 2020! We had to think outside the box to convey such a simple but complicated idea that adhered to all social distancing and precautionary measures put into place by #TeamBahrain. The determination to succeed from our Bayan Community, The Board of Trustees, The Parents Association and the Administrative Team turned this into a joyous celebration of the Kingdom of Bahrain! The event at the Bahrain’s International Circuit (BIC) proved to be an international success, gaining over 26 thousand views on social media! It was also picked up by international news such as the BBC, ABC News, the Guardian as well as media outlets in Japan, Germany and Jakarta to name a few!

We don’t know what the future holds for us regarding this global pandemic, however, The Board of Trustees, in coordination with the School's Administration are planning several scenarios for the beginning of the new academic year 2020/21, based on the decisions taken by the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Ministry of Health.

Though the circumstances were not foreseen or ideal, every individual of the Bayan Community proved that they were capable to adapt to these new challenging situations, and I could not be more proud of our faculty, staff, community and our parents for helping our students finish out the year strong.  This experience with no doubt helped teach our students the resilience that it takes to succeed in tough times. Once again, thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of another academic year!

Sincerely,

Dr. May bint Sulaiman Al Otaibi
